A hibiscus picture shot by SVS Rao is attached herewith. Krishna, Seshadri, Vivek and SVS Rao were seen shooting some lotus flowers and the honey bees collecting honey from the lotus.

Workshop on Small Product Photography on 31st May 2009
On 31st May APPS organized Small Product Photography Workshop by Mr. Ashok Kandimalla. The workshop started with introduction of Ashok to the participants by Sathyaprasad.

Ashok started explaining about the articles and gadgets required for the Small Product Photography. He showed the participants that one need not spend a fortune to set up a small Product Photography Studio at home. He also showed how shadows behave and how to get soft shadows by using diffusers or light tents.

Ashok then showed the members how to get the white balance and exposure right by making use of a 18% Grey card and histogram in the camera. He also showed how to make use of reflectors and fill flash to reduce the shadows.

After this participants enthusiastically took several photographs on their own. APPS requests them to send images taken during the workshop for putting them up on the APPS website.

Overall about 22 members participated. It is nice to note that more than half of them were new members joining Society that day. Feedback forms along with notes were distributed to all the participants. A total of 14 feedback forms were received and of these 11 rated the workshop to be excellent.

Finally the workshop was ended with vote of thanks by SVS Rao, Secretary APPS.
APPS is planning to hold many more such workshops and welcomes members to participate in these.
